Photo 01 -The textile of the Chicago Eisteddfod has been researched by Dilys Rana, who has written a book on the Welsh in Chicago. She has mentioned the textile in the book (we have a copy of the book). The textile shows "Dyfed" the winner of the Bardic Chair and the Chair itself which she thinks is in the National Museum. The principal harpist was John Thomas (Queen Victoria's harpist) the solists for the concerts were Mary Davies and Ben Davies. Bessie Evans won the first prize in the Contralto Solo Competition and she is listed as coming from Builth, S. Wales. Tom Stephens was the Director of the Rhondda Glee Society and his choir won first prize. Also shown on the textile, is the mother of Ivor Novello.
