 Brynmawr Semtex Factory - Boiler House

The Dunlop Semtex Factory in Brynmawr was once one of the most inventive buildings of its time. Built between 1945 and 1951, the Dunlop Semtex factory in Brynmawr will go down in history as one of the most inventive industrial building of its time. Sadly it's fate would be sealed and the main factory would be demolished in 2001. Today only the Grade II listed Boiler House that supplied the factory with heat still remain  4.28 min

Market Hall Cinema

Built in 1894 as the towns market,the Market Hall has stood in the centre of Brynmawr for over a century. During that time it witnessed the birth of the moving picture, and subsequently evolved to incorporate the spectacle.

As a result, it stands today as Wales' oldest cinema.  4.16 mins

Dedicated to promoting our rich heritage, we work alongside the communities of the South Wales Valleys to produce inspirational local programmes.
